A couple of weeks back Crooked Monkey launched their revamped website. I have been meaning to write about it for a while now but life got in the way. Oh yeah, and the Russian hackers that gave my site high rankings for all kinds of brand knock-offs diverted a lot of my attention for a few days too.
Anyway, to get back on topic we need to talk about Crooked Monkey’s new website. Actually, it was announced sometime last year, when I was still in Ireland, that the site would be launched about 2 weeks later but that didn’t happen. Launching a new website just before Christmas shopping season can be a great way to get people to visit your website but it is also a time when you should be dealing with holiday promotions and of course the extra sales that always happen at that time of the year. I’m guessing the guys decided it was better to focus on those areas.
Regarding the site redesign, after the long wait, I was a little disappointed. It’s not that it’s a bad design or anything like that but the previous design seemed more polished. Of course it was a little dated and the new design with all its white space is closer to what we expect from a modern website. And of course Crooked Monkey t-shirts tend to be more grunge than polished too so perhaps the redesign is more appropriate.
Free shipping if you order 2 or more tees!
The good news though is that there are tons of new t-shirts and what I like about Crooked Monkey t-shirts is that they original. They don’t jump on any design or theme bandwagons. Not that there is anything wrong with t-shirts featuring skulls, Will Ferrell quotes or Tim Tebow (that’s all over now I think) but those can be found in stores all over the internet.
Not that they don’t have pop culture references at Crooked Monkey but when they do, they are pretty subtle. Anyway, I could go on and on but you should go check out the site for yourself to see what you think.
I was also lucky enough to get two Crooked Monkey tees in the mail the other day too so I will be writing about them later too.
