The logo says ARDT but I gather they are called Ardentees from the About Page. Here’s an excerpt from their About Page just so you know what they are about…
ARDT is painstakingly created for the discerning. Not just original, but experimental. Not just inspired, but emboldened. Not just modern, but progressive. We aspire to be at the pulse of artistic creation, that is, at the heart of all individuals, the creator, and that who is created for.
Usually there is a lot of hyperbole or plain old BS in the About Page but as hyperbolic as this one might sound, if you check out Ardentees yourself you probably agree that this description is spot on. Ardentees is based in Singapore but it seems there are no borders when it comes to to finding artists for their t-shirts. There are artists from Poland to Argentina to Japan. Check out the list.
Anyway, let’s talk about the tee I received. I was given the choice of which tee they would send me. I selected this one from the nine tees that I could see in the store at the time. There now seem to be more. I think the more recent tees are even better than the ones I made my selection from. The A|W 2010 collection is better than the Holler! collection is what I am saying.
While I don’t think that all the designs are perfectly suited to this medium I do appreciate the work that goes into the designs and clearly a lot of work went into these ones. The one I selected I chose because I felt that the design was quite simple (compared to the others) but the composition was perfect. I don’t know what the design is supposed to represent but when I assured myself that it wasn’t a logo I went with it. I’m pretty happy with the choice. The print on the tee is also flawless as is the printed logo on the inside of the tee.
If you are looking for something a bit different and that’s not a logo or a Will Ferrell movie quote then this store is a good place to start. One thing to note though is that they only have black or white tees. Perhaps they were worried colorful t-shirts would ruin the aesthetics of the website…perhaps they are right. Anyway, check them out. The tees are priced at US$38 which is a little steep but what are you going to do.
