If you are a gamer but don’t want to be too obvious then you should definitely check out Insert Coin. But before I discuss the why I think that it needs to be said that they have one of the best designed t-shirt store websites I have seen in a long time. It is simple, stylish and extremely easy to navigate. I think the logo could be cleaned up a bit but I like it. The tees on Insert Coin are for gamers and while I can’t say that I am a gamer I do enjoy them. In fact I just recently finished GTAIV on my PS3. (It is the only game I have.) These tees are not your typical gamer tee though, they use the games as references and inspiration to create designs that are not in your face like in some other gamer stores. In fact, if you haven’t played these games you will probably not even understand that they are gaming tees. I only knew the reference from the Umbrella Corporation tee which is from Resident Evil. It was from 1996 and that probably says something about me. Of course Resident Evil (Biohazard) is still a very popular franchise.
Well the t-shirt they sent over seemed more of a deeper red than it looks on their website and that is a good thing as far as I am concerned. I normally don’t wear red but I think that I can get away with this one. This tee design was inspired by the Metal Gear Solid series, one or two of which I have also played. Possibly on the PS2 or PS1. I don’t remember the reference though.
The second tee that was sent over was a ladies Glowing Sigil t-shirt. It was inspired by a game called Shadow of the Colossus which I had never heard of but I checked it out on YouTube and it looks like something I would have been interested in before. But without knowing what it’s about this tee is still very likable. The logo has a mystical quality that a Mayan iconography vibe. The light blue print on the brown tee is surprisingly effective too.
You should definitely check out the other tees on Insert Coin and hopefully their collection will grow quickly. My favorite is the Heavy Rain tee and coincidentally, it will probably be the next game I buy for the PS3.
