Frankly speaking, I was quite surprised when I received an email from Teetonic telling me that they wanted to send a tee over to be reviewed. Almost a year ago when I made a list of T-Shirt contest sites I mentioned that I hadn’t seen any activity from them in a while and to be honest nothing had changed by the time I got this email. Then I thought that perhaps they were going to give it another shot and perhaps that is what they are doing but there is still very little activity on their site so who knows. I did get an email from them though that mentioned a contest they are hosting and here’s an excerpt.
There’s lots of new and exciting stuff in the pipeline but first off we wanted to let you know that we’ve teamed up with Scotland’s Digital Arts Festival, NEoN to bring you a brand new competition
They said they would be keeping us updated over the “next few weeks” but that was about a month ago and I haven’t heard or seen anything new.
Anyway, the t-shirt review. That’s what it is all about really. The tee they sent over is a fairly basic design. I’ll be frank here. The design is reasonably cute and a bit humorous but I don’t feel it stands out. It really reminds me of the kind of tee you would buy at a beach resort and would have a caption like “swimming with sharks at Blackpool” or something cliched like that. The style of the design as well looks like something that would be more appropriate on a children’s picture book. It just doesn’t work for me or Mrs. Retro.
On the other hand there is a fairly decent and varied selection over on the Teetonic website which you should check out. Don’t hold your breath for new t-shirts though.
