T-Shirt Hell are back trying to offend the Christians again with a new design this week. I think it’s a reasonably clever design but to me it is a very serious critique of religion. The sentence “if you love Jesus, show me your tithes” does make me want to rant a little and I have a blog so why not.

When I was growing up my mother often said that there is too much religion and not enough Christianity. In Ireland, a country that was about 95% catholic and 5% protestant that was kind of a contradiction in terms. But we understood what she was saying. By religion she meant organized religion and that too much importance was placed on church activities with not enough time being spent being a good Christian.
With all the sexual and financial scandals that the church seems to be involved in these days I think we have even less reason to give money to organized religion than ever before.
And this onion t-shirt is almost cute.
