On February 22nd there was a pretty big earthquake in New Zealand that caused quite a bit of devastation. Homes were destroyed and lives were lost. It is one of the biggest disasters to ever strike New Zealand. My sister, a long time resident of Christchurch, with her husband and kids practically lost their home but luckily weren’t hurt in the quake. It is hard to describe their situation as lucky though as their house will have to be rebuilt and everything breakable in the house was broken. The house itself had just undergone major renovations and my sister had put the finishing touches to the home she was hoping to retire in.
Anyway, there are lots of ways to help the people in New Zealand but if you are into design you can join in at Threadless’ latest project called Threadless Causes. There are other causes as well so if you think they are more deserving of your time you can participate there.
It’s a design contest so if you win you will get paid if your design is chosen. Great isn’t it.
